What draws me to a place are its people and their lore. Scenic beauty- the rolling hills, cascading waters and the fresh mountain air are but the icing on the cake; what makes up the rich layers underneath are the stories.

I call out to my children, ripe into their youthful years, an umpteen number of times. Sometimes they do not respond.
What you taught me that day was winning a race is not as important as having a friend to slow you down and savor every moment of it.
